What does a temperature switch do?

A temperature switch is a component from the field of temperature measurement technology that is used to monitor temperature in a system. About these, a sensor records the actual state and compares it with the target. When a preset switching threshold is reached, the temperature switch causes the switching contact to be opened or closed. He receives the signal for this from a temperature transmitter

What are the types of temperature switches?

Mechanical temperature switches work based on physical principles, in which temperature changes cause the expansion of a gas, liquid or metal. The type of bimetal temperature switch is particularly robust and cost-effective. The so-called gas pressure temperature switches are used where there is an increased safety risk. 

Electronic temperature switches record the temperature during control and monitoring with a resistance thermometer, the signal of which is then electronically evaluated. This technology enables precise switching of the signal when a defined temperature value is reached and reset when this value falls below this value.
