What is a hydrogen pressure sensor?

A hydrogen pressure sensor, or hydrogen pressure transmitter, is a special high-precision sensor that precisely measures the pressure of hydrogen and converts it into an electrical signal. These signals can be used to control, regulate, and monitor processes in various hydrogen applications.

Hydrogen pressure sensor: How it works

Our hydrogen pressure sensors are piezoresistive pressure sensors that detect the pressure of the medium via a sensitive membrane that deforms when pressure changes. This deformation is converted by piezoresistive elements into an electrical signal, which is then amplified and transformed into a standardized output signal, such as 4-20 mA or 0-10 V. These signals can then be relayed to control systems or data collection devices.

Areas of application of an H2 pressure sensor

Our sensors can be used for various pressure ranges and are used in a wide range of applications, including:

  • Electrolyzers: Precise pressure measurement and control for efficient hydrogen production.
  • Fuel cells: Reliable monitoring and control of pressure to optimize energy yield.
  • Tank and storage systems: Ensuring pressure control in hydrogen storage tanks and refuelling facilities.
  • Pipeline systems: monitoring of pressure conditions to ensure safe and efficient hydrogen transport.

With our hydrogen pressure sensors, we contribute to the development of sustainable and environmentally friendly energy solutions. They are ideal for applications in the production and use of green hydrogen, a key technology for the energy transition. In this way, we support the vision of a sustainable future and offer our customers innovative solutions for the challenges of tomorrow.
