What is a differential pressure transmitter?

A differential pressure transmitter, also known as a differential pressure sensor or differential pressure transducer, measures the difference in pressure between two pressure points and converts this measurement into an electrical signal. This technology is particularly useful when it comes to determining the flow of certain media for which other measurement methods are not suitable. With our differential pressure transmitters, you can ensure that your system is always operating within the intended parameters. 

How does a differential pressure transmitter work?

Differential pressure transmitters work by comparing two pressures. A common application is to determine the flow through a measuring aperture, where the pressure difference is measured. Our SMD product range not only offers the possibility to measure the differential pressure in a flow measurement, but can also output the dynamic pressure/system pressure in an extended version. This enables a plausibility assessment of the system via the control unit, which significantly increases operational reliability.
